I've loved music for as long as I can remember. As a kid I would always get hooked on to specific songs from movies and shows and get songs on the radio stuck in my head. I especially loved the soundtrack to the Pirates of the Caribbean. My mind would wonder during school and I would hum songs I liked to myself all the time. It wasn't until I was older that I realized just how much music has been a part of my life since the beginning.
Once I got into 5th grade we had to choose a fine arts elective. I decided on joining band and before I knew it, I was thrown into the percussion section and my love for music grew tenfold. I began to slowly learn why I loved certain songs and discovered many new songs and genres from my friends. What I really learned in this time though where that the main songs I loved were the ones that not only told a story, but the ones that set mood. Any song where when you listen to it, an image plays along in your head.
From then on, my taste in music evolved drastically. As a kid I would just listen to random songs I found online, now I practically listen to anything. Pop, metal, rap, EDM, classical, Etc., as long as the song makes and image in my head, I like it. Even so, I still listen to a lot of soundtracks from games, movies, and shows. Which honestly makes a lot of sense because they are literally made with the purpose of going with a scene.
